The rain held off for most of the day while the Leathertown Festival got set up and the crowds descended into the downtown core of Acton. The Theme was 'Explore the Magic' and there were many vendors and attractions to keep the crowds entertained. Mill Street East is closed to traffic and the day of fun began - even some Toronto Argonaut Cheerleaders were on hand.
The street is full.
The connection to the castle comes loose and the deflating begins!
Miss Acton 2007/2008 Emily Stirtzinger helps out at the Acton Agricultural Society booth.
There were a lot of kids games and attractions - including a joust game that looked like hard work and a lot of fun.
Kendra who assists the Reptile man holds onto a ball python.
Elvis (Bruce Herron) is in the building.
The storm clouds gather over the main stage just while Elvis is getting the crowd rockin. The rain really came down at about 3:30pm and the day ended early. This makes rain two years in a row (although last years rain through most of the day was much worse). Hopefully next years Festival will be perfect - see you then. |
