Brad
Graham (#19) of the Full Throttle NASCAR (Canada) car poses with some
of the sponsor reps during the Nascar
Canadian Tire Series in Cayuga. My brother Joe is helping to cover
the race with Inside
Track Motorsport News Magazine. Brad is in the midst of a fan autograph
session when Joe asks the Full
Throttle girls to pose with Brad, reluctantly he agrees.
It was an exciting
day of races with the Sportsman series also racing on Saturday. Bobby
Allison, one of NASCAR's top drivers and Hall of Fame member, was on
hand to welcome the drivers and meet with fans. Great racing, great crashing
and some fireworks to finish the day after the win by Derek Lynch (#77).

Toronto Air Show
I continue my
weekend adventure with Joe by heading into T Dot with the bikes to watch
the Toronto International Air Show put on by the CNE. We pay $25 to park
down along the lake front and we get the bikes in gear and head out towards
the east side of the city.
Near the Toronto
Police Marine Station along Queens Quay we find the Greenpeace ship tied
up along the harbour running tours of their vessel. They had tried the
previous day to block the delivery of coal to a generating plant with two
Greenpeace activists getting arrested.
I had to pose
Joe in front of a sign along the Lakeshore Loblaws - "Fresh Style Joe."
Usually Joe signs are bad with names like Crabby Joes!
The air show was
nice - only the biplane gave us some heart racing excitement as his engine
seemed to stall and flames lept out from his exhaust while he came very
close to the waters of Lake Ontario. The crowd lept to it's feet thinking
the plane was going to crash but it was only part of his show. A search
and rescue helicopter passes by the centre stage fireboat after dropping
off a diver into the harbour, below.

Acton Quarry Open
House
Ann, Erin and
Kevin stand beside the extremely large cat dump truck in the Dufferin
Aggregates Acton Quarry during their open house. We were running late
so we couldn't see alot of the stuff - like the tours, the old lime kilns
and seeing the monster equipment demonstrations, but we still had fun.
Here is Erin in the big wheel.
Erin was in the
midst of her soccer playoffs so we quickly ran to the field so she could
play. After a hard day of soccer her team came in second place - losing
in a shoot-out after a tied finals game.

St. Alban's Church
135th BD
Acton's St. Alban
the Martyr Church celebrated it's 135th anniversary during a weekend of
fun and parties. Reverend Mark Tiller is a great Rector and has a lively
sense of humour, he also likes to act in local plays. The inside of the
old church is all wood and really looks nice.

Train tracks in
Acton
The railway through
Acton, Ontario at the Mill Street crossing. The sun has decided to set,
much like summer as we start the fast road into winter. It is possible
that a train station will be brought once again to Acton which will be
good news for many.
This picture was
taken near the old GO station which was located at the Olde Hide House.
