Waterfallin'?
|
The dry summer
has quite an impact to the waterfalls around Southern Ontario. The small
trickle of water runs along the upper edge of lower Ball's Falls.
A mother and her
daughter sit at the top of the falls with a height of about 28m (90').
This is a day
of adventure with my brother Joe. While the waterfalls are less than spectacular
because of the low flow of water it still is a beautiful area along the
Niagara Escarpment - and the mosquito count is really low! The shot above
is along the trail to Louth Falls which also hooks up to the Bruce Trail.
The creek has
cut a sharp valley through the rocks of the escarpment. The floor of the
creek remains covered in leaves with small pools of water scattered here
and there. The drop just ahead is quite impressive but it only has a trickle
of water flowing during our visit.
