Small town excitement
ramped up as the 2008 Acton Fall Fair set up shop in Prospect Park. We
were extremely lucky as the rain stayed away and the crowds came out to
enjoy all the merriment. For more pictures including a Youtube slideshow
and panorama views of the Fair please click on this link: www.imagesbythehamiltons.com/ActonFallFair2008.htm.

Jack Carpenter
Media personality
Jack Carpenter hosted the 45th Annual Miss Acton Pageant at the Acton Fall
Fair. Jack started at BBC in England and emigrated to Canada and started
working for CFCA FM 105.3 FM and about 17 years ago (early 1990s) started
the red nose campaign in Canada - called "Lighten Up Canada", which was
held on the 6th of February.
The event was
really popular and I remember my kids getting the big red noses to wear.
The first year after Party House manufactured the noses they sold 12,000
and one year they sold 380,000! Here is Erin in 2003 wearing her nose.
Jack lives in
Acton and he is trying his best to keep the tradition alive - so lighten
up Canada.

Around Acton
Some nice looking
dogs were out for a drive around Acton.
The Roxy Cafe
glass facade looks great. Construction work on the old Theatre continues.
The Acton Agricultural
Society continues to put away stuff from the Fall Fair but otherwise Prospect
Park has returned back to normal.
