I had the pleasure
of attending the Fashion Cares presents Fashion sCares event at the Metro
Toronto Convention Centre and had a great time. As a guest of ACT I photographed
a few celebrities including Katy Perry, Kreesha Turner, Dame Shirley Bassey
and even actress Lauren Holly (I loved her in Dumb and Dumberer). For more
coverage of the event check out my Youtube video showing highlights of
the evening. In the above photo (taken by Joe Hamilton) I am in the media
area for the red carpet photos.

A little hazy
The fire department
checks out the local supermarket. The air inside was a little hazy and
they wanted to err on the side of caution. They never did find a cause
for the cloudy atmosphere and they were very thorough - including the use
of infrared cameras to look for hot spots.

Ripping up the
road
Construction crews
work on Church Street East replacing water and sewermains. A lot of roads
in Acton have been improved over the last couple of years and they are
now working on the road in front of our house. When they use the vibratory
compactor attachment on the backhoe to the right it really shakes the house.

Acton Remembrance
Parade
The Acton Remebrance
Day Parade stops in front of the Cenotaph. John Tatham in a WWII uniform
with a rifle stands in front of the Georgetown Pipe Band as the rest of
the parade files into place. The route of the march was from the Hide House
parking lot onto Mill Street, heading east, to the Trinity United Church.
The Lorne Scots soldiers form around the Cenotaph where the wreaths are
placed in memory of those that served and died for Canada.
See the bottom
of this page for a large panorama of some of the parade participants.

Santa comes to
town
Santa came to
Town on a wet November day and he brought a parade with him. While the
weather did not cooperate (like much of this year) the parade seemed larger
than last years and the crowds came out to watch. For more pictures of
the parade
please click on my page here.

Lake Erie winter
surfers
The seas were
angry that day, my friend. I know I have said that before but I still love
the line from Seinfeld. Joe and I travel to Crystal Beach on the shores
of Lake Erie to watch some winter surfing. The strong winds blow up the
waves as they hit the beach and the surfers gather for a competition. I
don't know how they do it, the weather was hard to take just photographing
the event. They wait for the big waves in the picture below.
