Spring has sprung
in our little neck of the woods. Warmer temperatures are returning to Southern
Ontario and most of the snow has melted. Only the snow hidden by shade
or piled high in parking lots, covered in dirt, remains. On Fairy Lake
most of the ice is gone. The last ice is west of the Acton Legion and does
not make it all the way to the outlet into the Black Creek Tributary.
Now we will start
with the April showers to bring May's flowers. Although the sun has peeked
out of the clouds a few times today. Pretty soon we will see trees blooming
and green return to our landscapes. In the picture above we are looking
towards some old stumps, then the remaining ice cover and finally to the
far shore and the trailer park.

Lake Huron
Bro Joe and our
family headed out for a day of adventure exploring the Lake Huron area
in the area of Kincardine on a sunny but cool spring day. In Kincardine
we come upon a great beach with some piers and oversize sets of blue chairs
looking onto the great lake. We have not explored this area very much so
it was fun to drive around looking for random places. The water looks clear
and looks a little too refreshing to swim yet. You can see more of our
adventure here.

Elora and the
Grand River
The Grand River
is at high flow and the water passes by the historic Elora Mill Inn and
heads down past an island that holds out against erosion with the help
of concrete and down a waterfall. Guests at the Inn can eat on an overhang
perched above the roaring waters. See a Youtube
video of the river and Inn by clicking here.

Toronto's High
Park
With a four day
Easter weekend upon us we join up with friends to explore Toronto's
High Park. They have an amazing zoo full of bison, deer and many other
animals, a leash free dog zone, beautiful nature trails and an amazing
children's playground full of wooden castles and swings. While the sun
is out it still remains a little cool - some of last week's snow still
remains on the ground.

Spring along the
Black Creek
With the sunny
weekend and warmer weather just around the corner I decide to see what
is happening along Acton's nature trails - what is goin' down wit spring.
I couldn't find much leaf growth or any pussy willows but I did see a few
bright yellow flowers. On the next page I go down into the valley beside
the old beaver dam.
